About Smoky Mountain RV Tech, LLC

From Ryan

Growing up in an RV'ing family, I witnessed firsthand the stress my parents experienced when things didn't go as planned. As an adult who enjoys packing up with the wife and dog, and heading out for weekend or months-long adventures, I have now experienced that same stress. That stress is exactly why I learned independently, then through the National RV Training Academy, and completed the training to become an RVTAA Certified Mobile RV Technician. I spent 20 years professionally helping people experiencing mental an…

Winterization / Fall Maintenance

Not getting ready for freezing temperatures is the number one reason for unnecessary repair expenses. On two consecutive days, I will come to you twice. Day 1: I will test and clean your air conditioner, start the process of descaling your water heater, perform a roof inspection, and complete a timed pressure drop test to test for propane leaks. Day 2: I will complete the descaling process and winterize your freshwater system with food-safe RV antifreeze. *I only winterize systems using food-safe antifreeze as the "blow out" method is well known to cause leaks in pipe joints due to frozen pooled water and air pressure. Using air to blow water out of a straight pipe works great. However, inside the smallest of RV's, there are many twists and turns where water will remain.

Emergency Repair to Depart (ERD)

Do you have a park manager breathing down your neck because you are two hours late leaving, and the camper that's taking over your site has been waiting three hours? All because you have a problem with a slide, landing gear, awning, or something else that is preventing you from leaving. Maybe, you are driving down the road on the way to your next site, and in your mirror, you see the horrifying sight of your slide creeping out or your landing gear falling lower with every bump. Either of these scenarios, and countless others, are true emergencies. When this happens, a full-service repair isn't the answer. A quick and immediate remedy to get you SAFELY on your way is the only answer. Then, when you get to your next stop, get the root of the problem repaired. We are here for you! As long as it is an RV issue, meaning not a tow vehicle, a tire, or an engine problem, we will grab our go bag and head straight to you. I have been on the side of the road with a slide 3/4 of the way out and bounced of track so I couldn't get it back in with the press of a button. Unfortunately, I wasn't an RVTAA certified tech at the time. Thankfully, my brother was and guided me through the process of getting the side in and locked into place. That was one of many things that led me to become a mobile tech, and it is one of the most rewarding services I offer. Knowing how many people are injured and killed roadside every year during traffic stops, in construction zones, and while stopped on a highway shoulder due to target fixation or recklessness makes me thankful I can help reduce that number by getting you on your way. If you are within my travel radius, emergency service is a flat fee of $500. Outside of my travel service, it is $500 plus mileage.

Get the slide in, the landing gear up, or whatever is holding you up strapped up, down and/or sideways and getting you on your way.
Fast as humanly possible!
